new bio-based capsule bionics

The implementation of the sustainability concept continues to accelerate. MARYAN MEHLHORN comes up with a bio-based new Capsule. The swim styles designed in a long-term mindset replace polyamide by plant-sourced raw material made from a 100% renewable source. It has 25 % less impact on climate change and is 100% petroleum-free. This truly innovative fabric undergoes an eco-sustainable patented production process with 25% less water consumption and 20% less CO2 emissions. The yarn is made from castor oil - not for feeding plant that can grow spontaneously. This totally renewable resource does not require high amounts of water nor subtracts arable land for food uses. The biomass source is castor bean, Ricinus Communis. The evolution in fabric goes hand in hand with the design language of the Capsule’s styles: Consistent subtracting adds long-lasting value.
